URL QR Code Generator

Send anyone to any web page with one scan

Tracking parameters (optional)

Count scans in your own analytics. Empty fields are left out.

Using your URL QR code

  1. Point it at a link you control

A static QR code can't be edited once it's printed — the link is baked into the pattern. If the destination might change, point the code at a page on your own site (or a redirect you manage) so you can update where it goes without reprinting anything.

  2. Shorter links make better codes

Every character adds detail to the pattern. A short URL gives you larger, cleaner modules that scan faster, from further away, and at smaller print sizes. Strip tracking parameters you don't actually use.

  3. Want to count scans? Tag the link

Fill in the tracking parameters above (for example utm_source=qr and utm_medium=print). Scans then show up separately in your own website analytics — no third-party tracking service needed.

  4. Size it for the distance

A good rule of thumb: people can scan from about ten times the code's width. A 2 cm (0.8 in) code works at arm's length; a poster across a room needs something much bigger. Around 2 cm is the practical minimum for print.

  5. Keep contrast high and leave a margin

Dark dots on a light background scan most reliably. Leave a clear border around the code (the "quiet zone") — text or artwork pressed right up against the edges is the most common reason a printed code won't scan.

  6. Test on more than one phone

Before you print a batch, scan the final file with both an iPhone camera and an Android camera at the size you'll actually print it. Check that the page loads properly on mobile, too.

Common uses for a URL QR code

  • Menus and table cards

Link to a menu page you can update daily without reprinting the table cards.

  • Posters and flyers

Send people to tickets, sign-ups or event details instead of cramming everything onto the print.

  • Product tags and packaging

Link to care instructions, sizing guides, lookbooks or warranty registration.

  • Business cards

Point to your portfolio or website so the card stays clean and simple.

  • Presentation slides

Put a code on the last slide linking to the deck, notes or resources so the audience can grab them.

  • Review requests

Link straight to your Google or Yelp review page on receipts, counters and thank-you notes.

  • Print portfolios and résumés

Link a printed piece to the live project, a case study or a video walkthrough.

  • Real estate and window signs

Link to the full listing, photos or a virtual tour.
